The studio is run by Robert and Jessica Barker, a husband and wife team with a wealth of experience.
Jessica Barker, director
Jessica has worked in London for over 14 years, and has maintained a record of 100% planning success in the hotel, education, commercial and residential sectors.
She has worked at diverse environments such as Stirling Prize winning practice Alison Brooks Architects, luxury designer James Gorst, Richard Seiffert, and artist / designer Ron Arad. At this highly creative studio, she worked at varying scales from footwear and building product development to a new build 5* hotel in Shoreditch (now on site). During her time there, the studio’s work was exhibited at Centre Pompidou, MoMA and The Barbican Galleries.
Robert Barker, director
Robert has 20 years architectural experience and has maintained a record of 100% planning success for many different types of project.
He trained at the Royal College of Art before working for a number of innovative firms. In 2003 he jointly set up Baca Architects and went on to win numerous awards and recognition as one of the leading innovators in flood resilient and adaptable architecture and spatial planning. With Baca, he won the RIBA Presidents Award for Research in 2009 and 2014, for the LifE project and the CAN project respectively. Robert was the co-author of the Metric Handbook Flood Aware Chapter (2015) and the RIBA book - Aquatecture (2016). Robert is also on several design review panels.
